Russian government-supported hackers attack Israel in support of Palestine
The sides are lining up for World War III
In the wake of the zerg rush attack on Israel by disgruntled Gazans, websites across the tiny nation went down.
Throughout the weekend, many Israeli government and news outlet sites including the Jerusalem Post were taken offline, some for days.
Hackers associated with the Russian government have claimed responsibility for the widespread cyber attacks on Israel. While the Russian government has so far avoided openly supporting either side, Moscow has taken the opportunity to criticise the US for pursuing what it says is a ‘destructive approach’ to relations in Palestine.
The Russians maintain that the only way to establish peace is to create a sovereign Palestinian state. This is unacceptable to the Israelis.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called out the US for failing to address the root causes of Palestinian resentment, which is the lack of Palestinian sovereignty in the Russian view.
While the Russians maintain official neutrality, at least for now, the Ukrainian government was quick to declare support for Israel after the attacks by Hamas. The Chechens on the other hand, whom Moscow relies upon for support in the Ukraine war, have voiced support for their Islamic brothers in Gaza.
The Russian relationship with Israel is a complex one. While 15% of Israel's population is Russian-born, attitudes among Jewish Russians are often less than friendly. Many grew up hearing stories of pogroms and Stalinist purges against Jews as Stalin drove out the internationalist Trotskyist element from the Soviet power structure.
The antipathy can flow the other way, too. Many Russians remember with little fondness the rule of the predominantly Jewish oligarchs after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The Russian Federation also relies upon maintaining good relations with the Islamic nations of Central Asia.
Russian policy in the Middle East has historically been more oriented toward keeping the West out than favouring a particular side. The Russians sent a military presence to the region during both the 1967 and 1973 wars between Israel and its neighbours to monitor American involvement. This came close to triggering World War III.
Within this context, Sergei Lavrov met with the Hamas Politburo Chief Ismail Haniyeh in Moscow in September last year, a move which angered Jerusalem.
As the Russia-China-Iran-North Korea axis sizes up against the Western Five Eyes + Israel world order, it will be difficult for Russia to maintain neutrality in the Middle East. The conflict between Russia and America will ultimately drive Russia and Israel to war as well.
Israel is renowned for its internet security forces. The nation’s cyber spy agency - Unit 8200 - drives Israel’s burgeoning internet economy and is heavily funded by the Israeli state.
That Israel was unable to prevent apparently Russian hackers from taking down key sites during a conflict is a clear indication to nations like ours that, in the event of war breaking out in the Asia-Pacific, our critical infrastructure will be impossible to defend.
No nation in recent decades has been able to defend its power and water grids as well as internet infrastructure during a conflict with a more powerful adversary. Indeed, the Israelis cut all critical infrastructure and supplies to Gaza after the attack by Hamas. There are currently no food or medical supplies, power or water being provided as Israel prepares to launch a ground assault.
China will have no trouble taking down the critical infrastructure of Australia in the same way. Should our elites have brought in Central Bank Digital Currencies - which many nations intend to implement in 2024 - then even financial transactions will be impossible.
Anyone living during the 1930s could have seen what World War II would bring by paying attention to conflicts such as the Japanese invasion of China in 1931 and the Spanish Civil War 1936-1939. Those smaller wars saw the bombing of civilian targets, widespread atrocities and the use of combined arms. It could have been a warning of what to expect upon the outbreak of World War II.
Pay attention to what is happening in Ukraine and the Middle East, friends. Should we see World War III break out in the Asia-Pacific, and all indications at this stage are that we will, then what is happening there is likely to happen in theatres of war near here.
Based on the weekend's events in Israel,we can therefore expect to see outbreaks of mass Islamic terrorism across the West.
We are commanded not to be afraid, even as we hear of wars and rumours of wars. It would be foolish, though, to not be prepared.
