The death of conservatism
Elizabeth II was the emblematic figurehead of Australian conservatism. Now she's dead.
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve enjoyed public speaking. Something is thrilling about holding the attention of a room and bending the audience to your will through the power of voice and gesture. It’s a buzz.
To get more practice at it as a teenager, I went along to a local Rostrum public speaking club. I was the only one in the room who didn’t remember Pearl Harbour and who wasn’t wearing knee-high socks. The room had a distinct smell.
The oddest thing I noticed though was that, prior to each meeting beginning, we did a prayer to a picture of Queen Elizabeth II on the wall. I remember wondering, why are we praying to the old chick on the coins?
I was never, am not and will never be a conservative. I was born in a Housing Commission fibro on red dirt on the outskirts of Parkes. The conservative worldview, so at home on the North Shore of Sydney or in Melbourne’s Inner South-east, just never made sense to me. Once I became a grown-up, neither did its socialist antithesis.
As a churchgoing Christian, however, I meet a lot of conservatives and I have to admit they are the nicest, most honest, most decent and kindest people you’ll ever meet in your life.
They’re also gullible fools.
If one is going to sign up for a political ideology, it should do what it says on the tin.
If you’re going to be a fascist, you should expect a government with your ideological position to at least make the trains run on time and look very sharp while doing so. If you’re going to be a communist, you should expect your regime to liquidate those oppressive property owners and then redistribute the crumbs to the mob. If you’re going to be a libertarian, you should expect a government espousing your views to roll back most laws and taxes, install a gold standard and then disband most of itself.
If you’re going to have a political belief system, you should expect that governments based around your ideology should do what they say they’re going to do. It’s the least you should expect.
For 51 of the 77 years since World War II, we’ve had conservative governments in Australia. In all that time, they’ve conserved nothing. Nada. Zip. They couldn’t even defend the distinction between the genders.
In 1945, Australia was an overwhelmingly Christian country with high levels of ethnic cohesion, a strong sense of civic purpose and confidence in the ideals our civilisation is based upon.
In 2022, we are an ethnic melange at each other’s throats that can’t agree on the most fundamental purposes of anything with a toxic self-loathing that is promoted by the state itself.
Sorry conservatives, but you are the biggest losers in political history. If your ideology was a car, it would be a Yugo.
It’s time to face it. Your ideology sucks. It doesn’t work, hasn’t worked and won’t ever work. If you want your children and grandchildren to not be slaves in an eco-communist dystopia of sexual depravity and police state control, it’s time to ditch your useless ideology and start thinking about what is true and good enough to base the restoration of Australian society upon.
The delusion of progressivism is an over-idealised future. The delusion of conservatism is an over-idealised past. Neither are real and in a society suffering from mass delusional psychosis reality is something we desperately need to get back to.
If you consider yourself a conservative and are still reading, bravo. Now ask yourself: What do you want?
Are you simply trying to preserve a perceived golden age period of around the 1950s when fascism had been defeated and communism was far away?
That won’t work. That past is dead.
Are you only concerned with preserving the material wealth of what is left of the Australian middle class? If that’s the case, then your worldview is built on a housing bubble. That’s not a political platform. That’s Monopoly for grown-ups but in real life, it’s the bank that always wins.
There was a time when men and women in this country used to imagine the future. Of course, when this slid into utopianism overseas and was used to bring in totalitarianism, it led to disaster. Yet in the English-speaking world, that never happened.
A hundred years ago, we used to build and dream and plan and imagine. Now, we try weakly to defend what’s left of our lives from the predations of an overbearing state and its ideologically-possessed minions.
Alex Jones was wrong about a lot of things, but he was right about the globalists. Whether you wish to acknowledge it or not, there is an elite agenda afoot that has been long in the making and which seeks to use ideological utopianism, political corruption and weaponised social control technologies to enslave we the people.
These people cooked up and released COVID, controlled the response and are now readying for the next crisis event to advance their agenda. You could call it ‘catastrophe social engineering’; the use of mass fear-inducing events to shove through reforms that systematically destroy our way of life.
Conservatism will do nothing to hold these people back. It lacks the ability to advance a counter-vision and is led by politicians, media pundits and oligarchs who are on the take and have been offered goodies if they toe the World Economic Forum line and destroy liberal democracy.
Charles III will offer no resistance to this agenda. He’s one of its central planners. He’s a toxic elitist like his father; he sees the common people as a parasitic annoyance that is destroying his beloved mother Gaia.
We’re the carbon he wants reduced, and now he’s on the throne.
Elizabeth II was a figurehead for Australian conservatives. She was treated with a religious reverence that, to be honest, bogan me found a bit creepy.
She’s not the Messiah, she’s just a nice old lady.
Now she’s gone, and we’ve got an entitled brat globalist at the head of the Anglican church, the Commonwealth of Nations and the state of Australia.
Conservatives, you need to face it. There’s nothing left to conserve. The establishment has declared war on us, and pretty soon anyone who used to consider his or herself a mainstream conservative is going to be labelled a domestic terrorist.
Your government is coming for you. Will you be willing to conserve at least your life and the lives of your posterity?
It’s the elites vs the people whether you like it or not, and the ongoing conservative attacks on populism are only helping along the dystopian agenda so desired by control freaks like Charles III.
King Charles would do well to remember his namesakes, especially Charles I. He also refused to accept liberty for the people.
So they cut his head off.
Very well written. I grew up in the 80’s as a debating, public speaker from the wrong side of the tracks. You nailed it here. I’ve not given up though, preparing as usual but I did recently join the LNP to try and swing things from the inside.
There is a core of like minded Gen Xers in my local branch. It’s going to be a slog to swing the boomers around but..... the red pills are everywhere if I can get them to open their eyes.
I enjoy the writing. Thank you
THE CHANGING FACE OF AUSTRALIA. MAY 2022
Australia has now decided on its fate and will be facing the future under a socialist Labor government. As one of the older generation I can no longer stomach the platitudes and soul bearing backgrounds of the newly elected.
In the past, the ability to learn, earn and manage went a considerable way towards becoming an individual, able to make their way in the world. Today none of that seems to count, particularly where the socialist left is concerned. Many of their members served their time in the enveloping flanks of the union movement and slowly became part of the union group that dictated to their party what they should or should not do. The union movement, far from being a non essential part of workers backgrounds, has morphed into a de facto government that now holds the key to the future prosperity of this country. Unfortunately, many of those would be leaders have never had the ability to make their own way in this world and have, by and large, been able to progress by being part of a large vociferous group that demanded attention from business leaders, in order to better themselves, rather than rolling up their sleeves and finding their own course in life!
Many of those people have ended up in the Labor movement and by dint of being able to stay put have finally been able to become part of the decision making group at the top of the chain, in other words the Labor government. It seems to be that the ability to stay with a movement, despite having no particular skill, is a strong reason to be able to succeed when positions are handed out to the long timers and the faithful. As the old saying goes, “There is a general’s baton, in the private’s knapsack!” Unfortunately, this old saying takes no account of the individual’s ability to handle all the factors in this world, of which governments are only too aware. Having been cosseted by the union movement throughout a large part of their lives these unionists in government have no memories of what it is like to be people who actually worked hard to maintain a standard of living based entirely on their ability to make their own way in this world. As a result only a very few labor administrators, including the current set of ministers have ever had to work in order to maintain a family. Several of them have the defence that they spent time getting a degree in whatever they thought was appropriate to further their union futures. They all seem trot out this little feature although it has never been tested in public. However, the majority have all been glued to the union shackles throughout their times under the Labor banner and no one dares to undo this for fear of being booted out of the party and alone.
Consequently they all play from the same song sheet as dictated by the union movement which basically controls the Labor government in this country. There are chinks in their armour however as they cannot survive without the help of the Greens party, which has helped them to win the current election. Our current system of preferential voting has enabled the Labor arm of the trades unions movement to throw out the previous Liberal National Party even though the amounts of votes Labor received was only around 33% compared to the LNP who actually received more than 40%! This was all due to preferential voting which allows votes for some of the other parties to be counted as if it was a Labor vote. No first past the post here and it is a grossly stupid idea that should be changed by future governments. If someone votes for a particular party then that vote should not be moved elsewhere but should die if there are not enough votes to support it. So much for democracy where we are at the mercy of splinter groups deciding to have their share. Unless we have a future leader who can galvanise this country into a substantial following and carry the population with him, then it seems that we will be forever doomed to struggle on in the same way for future generations. Australia had all the signs of being a standout country in the world embracing its own identity and producing an economy that was the envy of the world. Rich in natural resources and land for growing myriads of crops to feed not only our hungry population but that of the world as well. Unfortunately we embraced globalism and exported many of our fine industries overseas instead of relying on the benefits of a nationalist approach to be totally self sufficient and self sustaining. Well, we have the great Trades Union Movement to thank for that and instead of the unions working to the betterment of the country they have been flat out determining their own future instead of that of their country. They made many of our industries just too expensive to compete with overseas products and therefore increased the need for overseas suppliers to step in and replace locally produced products. In essence it is the union movement with their control of our now Government that has caused this situation and seen a move to reduce our sovereignty to simply that of just another country open to the beck and call of imperial demands.
I am of an age when I doubt that conditions will change in this country to let free enterprise prosper and normality return. We are told that The New World Order is about to begin. Unfortunately it is already here and has been so since the end of the last war in Europe, Only now is it becoming apparent in all it seeks to do.
Society has changed so much in the last thirty years both here and in Europe and with the rise of the World Economic Forum and all their interests in dominating world events everywhere it seems that there is little that the common man can do to stand up to these changes. Unless there is a cataclysmic eruption of people voting against these systemic changes we can start to say goodbye to the old world we knew and loved and just wait to see the changes engendered by the new enthusiastic followers of this new religion.
