This is what I think too: Christian Zionism is what will precipitate the great falling away. I had the blessing to study under a prominent hyper-dispensationalist when I returned to Christ. A lot of what he taught was good, but his theology was an absolute dumpster fire, and that was his focus almost every Sunday. It got me reading and studying the Bible closely because I knew it wasn't right, but didn't know the specifics. Finally I read his book after he sadly passed away, and saw the whole error, then learned of Darby the theosophist and Schofield the con artist (truly a horrible man in life).
Now I see how pervasive the dispensational framework is in all kinds of churches, and most of them don't even know what dispensationalism is. The eyes glaze over when I talk to them about it. It's a true spiritual blindness, only God can inflict this or lift it
It's a thought that's been percolating in my mind for a while and the more I reflected on it, the more it made such perfect sense. Why these infernal deceptions which began in the 1800s? What would be the purpose? But now it's so clear that Marxism and Zionism are forming a dialectical synthesis as we head into World War III. And yes, I believe too that God has allowed this. I've noticed Christian Zionists have a love of money and position. Perhaps this is why they fall for it?
I knew Darby's family castle was haunted but I didn't know he was a theosophist. So he knew he was a deceiver? I need to look into that, thanks.
That's true, most of them are very status and money oriented. They'll be the first to tell you how God's gonna bless you for giving them their 10%! Ironically the very intellectual pastor I knew was not very money oriented: he didn't believe in passing the plate and didn't teach tithing as it was "under the law". He was very status seeking though, he had a cult following and was an activist and ran a radio show.
